Confiscated Indian Palm Civet or 'toddy cat'. Brought in from Mysore and submitted to the shelter for rehabilitation. Corneal opacity in both eyes due to deficient diet and subjection of this nocturnal animal to harsh sunlight by a street entertainer.
Checking for reflexes to visual stimuli on admission. Note the tiny wooden box in which the animal was incarcerated in for a indefinite period of time.
Animal resting in a spacious enclosure with adequate furnishing in terms of branches, dried palm leaves, a wooded hide box etc. Animals unfit for release into the wild are retained for the remainder of their lives despite the fact that they are expensive to maintain
