Egret Hatchlings

Displaced Little Egret chicks from Indranagar. The younger of the two was in shock on admission and the extreme step of fluid replacement via sub-cutaneous injections was resorted to in an attempt to recover the bird. The birds were in Intensive care for a month. Initially fed on a mash of raw fish, thiamine, and other vitamin supplements till they progressed to larger slivers of fish.





One of the problems was imprinting owing to the close proximity of baby birds to rehabilitator. The rehabilitator decided to shave off his hair and beard to put a stop to the begging response.
