Panophtalmitis as a sequel to defanging and venom gland destruction by the snake charmer. The eye had to be enucleated to prevent infection spreading to the other eye.
Ectoparasite infestation of captive snakes is high due to the appalling conditions the animals are subjected to. Illustrated is the removal of ticks from between the scales of a freshly confiscated snake.
Oral rehydration via stomach tube in an extremely dehydrated cobra. The gut flora has to be reintroduced before force-feeding can be attempted.
